Sandro Schembri started his career in 1986 when he successfully attended a three year Architect’s Assistant and Draughtsman Course organised by the Education Division. Following completion of this course, the subsequent employment in the private sector alongside an expatriate Chartered Quantity Surveyor, motivated Sandro to understand the importance of further enriching his capabilities through enrolment into the distance-learning Diploma in Surveying (College of Estate Management, Reading). In September 2001, he successfully attained full membership in the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Quantity Surveying Faculty).
Complementary to the cost management function, Sandro has extensive interest in Project Management, with significant further development in the field being achieved through the successful completion of the MBA (Real Estate & Construction) and RICS Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management (RICS) in September 2004.
Following participation in short course jointly organised by the Malta Arbitration Centre and the Chartered Institution of Arbitrators (UK) in May 2001, attained associated membership status within the same institution.
Throughout the last 16 years, Sandro has extensive works experience in a considerable number of projects (both local and overseas) with different client’s ranging from a central government department, to a main contractor, client and presently a multi-disciplinary organisation.
Sandro is similarly actively involved in the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, both through being appointed as the European Representative in the Project Management Faculty and also in RICS Malta, currently being entrusted with the role of Public Relations and Educational Officer.
